Essential Life (formerly Hodge BioSeparations) was founded by Daniel Yukon in 1999 to provide innovative columns for low-pressure chromatography. The technology was developed at Biosepra during the previous 10 years and was acquired and improved by Essential Life Solutions.

The new low-pressure column technology received a successful acceptance from the market and in 2004 Essential Life Solutions expanded the products and services offering to add high-pressure chromatography. To this end Essential Life added Dr Franco Spoldi to its management team.

Franco, former president of Modcol Corporation, one of the most innovative companies in the high pressure preparative chromatography, brought with him more than 20 years of experience in this field. This experience contributed to the development and introduction of a complete new line of stainless steel high-pressure chromatography columns and packing services.

As technology has grown since 1999,so have the innovative products and services we offer.
